Cam Whitmore Ejected from NBA Debut
Promising Rookie Loses Composure in First Game
Whitmore Assessed Two Technical Fouls
In a surprising turn of events, 20-year-old Cam Whitmore was ejected from his NBA debut on Tuesday after receiving two technical fouls. Whitmore, a 6-foot-5 forward who played for Villanova and Team USA in 2022-23, was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Whitmore, who was projected by many to be a lottery pick, had a solid performance in his first game, scoring 12 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. However, he lost his composure in the fourth quarter after being called for a foul. He argued with the referee and was assessed a technical foul.
Just minutes later, Whitmore was called for another technical foul after shoving a Magic player. This resulted in his ejection from the game. The Rockets went on to lose 114-107.
