England's Euro 2024 Squad Announced
Gareth Southgate Names 26-Man Roster
Crystal Palace Duo Earn First Call-Ups
Gareth Southgate has named his 26-man squad for England's upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 campaign. The Three Lions will be looking to build on their semi-final appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will be among the favorites to lift the trophy in Germany.
The squad includes a number of familiar faces, such as captain Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, and Phil Foden. However, there are also some notable inclusions, with Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton earning their first call-ups to the senior team.
Eze has been in impressive form for Palace this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in all competitions. Wharton, meanwhile, has broken into the Palace first team this season and has impressed with his performances in midfield.
Southgate is confident that the squad he has selected has the quality and experience to challenge for the European Championship title.
"I am very excited about the squad we have selected for Euro 2024," Southgate said. "We have a good mix of experience and youth, and I believe we have the players to go all the way."
England will begin their Euro 2024 campaign on June 14 against Italy. They will also face Ukraine and Scotland in the group stage.
