On Sunday, July 7, France elected 577 members of the National Assembly, the country's lower house of parliament.
The election was a close one, with no party winning a clear majority.
The far-right National Rally party, led by Marine Le Pen, came in first place with 33% of the vote.
The incumbent La République En Marche! party, led by President Emmanuel Macron, came in second place with 26% of the vote.
The left-wing New People's Ecological and Social Union (NUPES) came in third place with 20% of the vote.
The election results will make it difficult for President Macron to pass legislation in the National Assembly.
The uncertainty caused by Sunday's election result comes as France prepares to welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
