Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is back with the team, but his previous contract is still haunting the team's salary cap. The Cowboys agreed to a new contract with Elliott on Monday, but the deal will add to the $6 million in dead money that the team is already carrying over from his first stint in Dallas.

Elliott's Return to Dallas

Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, but he returned to Dallas after one season. He finished the 2023 season with 184 carries for 642 yards and three touchdowns, which were all career lows for the running back.
